This early, ground-breaking Philadelphia trail planing project examined mixed recreational uses in the Wissahickon Valley area of the landmark Fairmont Park. The Simone Collins plan describes a negotiated agenda for user groups to cooperatively share the trail system within this “National Natural Resource” area. The public participation process conducted by SC raised the visibility of conflicts and solutions to conserve this important upper watershed reach within the larger municipal park.
