Swatara State Park Master Plan, PA
Over 3,500 acres were acquired by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in the 1960-70’s for the purpose of creating a reservoir-based public recreation area. After decades of those acres sitting idle, PA DCNR engaged Simone Collins to create a land-based park plan. The process focused around an extensive public engagement program throguh wwhich SC worked closely with DCNR and the community to negotiate a consensus plan that respected ecological features while allowing greater public access and new recreational opportunities.
