The historic Center Square at the heart of Hanover Borough is the focus of municipal efforts to re-envision its downtown as a sustainable commercial-residential mixed-use district. Simone Collins developed alternatives including the feasibility of roundabout geometries within the urban intersection that was once a ‘town square’ and now conveys three state highways without a central feature. SC also developed concepts for a network of municipal alleys re-imagined to serve as multiple-use public spaces, off-highway bike route, and green stormwater management BMPs (best management practices).
